Junction City, KY (May 30, 2016) After two Super Late Model special events kicked off the 2016 season at Ponderosa Speedway, actions returns this Friday night, June 3rd with a third special event to continue racing action at the famed 3/8 mile oval dubbed as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring.” After being rained out two weeks ago on May 20th, the “Topless 40” is scheduled to roll this Friday night with a top prize of $1,500 to win for the “Sweet Beans ‘N Things” Crate Late Models in a 40 lap A-Main feature. Several of the region’s top Crate Late Model competitors are expected to compete in the 40 lap event, including drivers from Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, and others. NO ENTRY FEE will be required for this event. Only a $25 pre-race tech/transponder rental fee will be in effect. RACEceivers will be mandatory. Tire rules for the event will be Hoosier 1350 or harder, American Racer 48 or harder, or any legal Fastrak, NeSmith, or other legal sanctioned series tire. This includes all front and rear tires. Grooving and siping will be allowed, but no covering of tires or compound numbers will be allowed. Shock rule for the event will be open. Other divisions scheduled to be in action include the “Phantom Race Gear” Open Wheel Modifieds racing in a 20 lap feature for $800 to win, KDRA Super Stocks racing 15 laps for $500 to win, Four Cylinders racing 12 laps for $300 to win, and the Mini Cup Cyclones racing 10 laps for $100 to win. Crate Late Models will utilize a two lap qualifying format, while all other divisions will utilize a hotlap/qualifying combination format. Further format information for Crate Late Models will be determined following registration and will be based on car count.

Friday’s event will see the pit and grandstand gates open at 4 P.M. EST. The driver’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 P.M., with hotlaps to begin at approximately 7:30 P.M. Gate prices for Friday’s “Topless 40” will be as follows: Adult Grandstand admission will be $15, with kids 12 and under admitted free into the grandstands. Pit admission will be $35 for adult pit passes, with kids ages 3-12 years admitted for $15. Transponder timing and scoring will be utilized for all classes, and can be rented at the track during registration. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions, with no exceptions. Driver registration will conclude at 7 P.M.
